Description: Using a pick-up stick on the rigid heddle loom. If you are ready to move beyond plain weave, then the versatile pick-up stick is an easy way to add texture and pattern to your rigid heddle weaving.  We will make a beautiful table runner while learning several patterns with the simple but powerful pick-up stick.

For this class you must have basic weaving skills on a rigid heddle loom. 

Materials and Equipment needed for this rigid heddle weaving class:
   • Rigid-heddle loom (warp threaded and tied on) minimum 12” wide loom**
   • 8 dent heddle
   • Stick shuttles
   • Two contrasting colors of sport or DK weight yarn (approx 200 yards each)
   • 1 pick-up stick

**(the project is 12” wide, but can be adjusted to a 10” wide loom)

Option to purchase a yarn kit for this project for $40 (2 skeins of Farmhouse Wool from Windswept Willows Farm can be mailed to students)

Instructions for preparing your loom for class will be emailed to students.
