This beginner class will teach you the fundamentals of weaving on a rigid heddle loom. The class is designed for those with no prior weaving experience and will cover everything you need to get started. Learn loom setup and basic weaving techniques while creating a simple Fall table runner using cotton warp yarn and fabric strips.
Class instruction includes loom basics and understanding the parts of a rigid heddle loom and how it works. Learn how to prepare the warp threads that create the lengthwise structure of your fabric. Master basic weaving skills such as plain weave (over-and-under) and other fundamental techniques. Learn how to remove your woven piece from the loom and finish the edges (e.g., creating fringe). Gain tips, tricks and trouble-shooting common issues for a smooth weaving experience. All materials provided.
